Würfel chooses DAF XF and Fricke Nutzfahrzeuge
Vehicle fleet modernisation
Decision in favour of DAF based on good experience with efficiency and service – Fricke Nutzfahrzeuge offers mobile repair services – average age of the Würfel fleet below two years
Würfel Spedition, a company specialised in jumbo swap body transportation, has expanded its own truck fleet by adding several new DAF XF 480 swap body trucks equipped with SDG swap bodies. The trucks are delivered by Fricke Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH. The investment is being made in the context of regularly updating the vehicle fleet. The average age of Würfel’s trucks and semi-trailers is significantly less than two years. Steeped in a long tradition, the Würfel is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
“In the year of our anniversary as well, we are setting our sights on the future and making progress with our programme of investing in our fleet with more than 400 trucks of our own. The younger the fleet, the more modern and climate compatible we are when on the roads in the service of our customers,” explains Karim Gebara, Managing Director of Würfel Holding GmbH. DAF was chosen as Würfel had already had very positive experience with the company. This also not only includes the very low diesel and AdBlue consumption, but also exceptionally good reliability. “Würfel has experienced virtually no downtime from DAF vehicles because of unscheduled time spent in workshops,” Gebara says.
The dealer involved put forward additional arguments: Heeslingen-based Fricke Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH has been one of Würfel Spedition’s suppliers for some years now. Along with competent and customer-oriented sales staff, logistics specialist Würfel particularly appreciates the Fricke’s flexible mobile repair and maintenance service, with this service provided at weekends or on other preferred dates. Fricke saves its customers a trip to the garage through offering this unique service model in Bremerhaven. The DAF dealer’s mobile service technicians go to the respective depot instead.
Another important argument in favour of DAF is how well they are received by the drivers –Würfel employees are involved when purchasing decisions of this kind are made. Drivers like the DAF XF 480 as the truck is well equipped, offers generous space in the driver’s cab and has an efficient stationary air conditioning unit.
The new DAF XF swap bodies are sourced from SDG Modultechnik GmbH, a company specialised in BDF vehicles. Family-run company SDG based in Bielefeld and Würfel Holding have maintained a long-standing collaboration for more than ten years. All Würfel Spedition vehicles are equipped with SDG swap bodies.
